Meeting with a representative of Hokkaido University

On 11th of November, Marina Lomaeva, coordinator for cooperation with authorities and enterprises of the international department of the University of Hokkaido (Japan), visited the Khabarovsk State University of Economics and Law. During the meeting with the KSUEL administration and the staff of our Center, the sides exchanged their experience and ideas in the field of organizing international exchange programs. M. Lomaeva presented a joint project of Hokkaido University and Niigata University to train personnel for Japanese-Russian economic cooperation and humanitarian exchanges (so called HaRP – Human Resource Platform).
In accordance with the initiative, representatives of Russian and Japanese universities, local authorities and business of our two countries will be involved in the implementation of joint business projects, providing work experience for students, and assistance in finding jobs. Our university expressed its readiness to participate in the HaRP project in the field of exchange of information and experience, as well as assistance in organizing cooperation between Russian and Japanese universities with government bodies, enterprises and other organizations.
After the official part, an informal meeting between M. Lomaeva and the staff of the SCO Center was held with the participation of A.G. Bury, the chairman of the Board of the expert council of the Far Eastern Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During the meeting, participants discussed the experience and prospects of organizing internships for Russian and Japanese students at enterprises.
During the meeting, an agreement was also reached on the participation of Aleksandr Voronenko, head of the research sector of KSUEL, in a conference organized by the Norilsk State Industrial Institute through video link.
